Frequently Asked Questions
The Electric Vehicle Charging Market is constantly evolving, from new government regulation to installation fitting grants and subsidies. We know that there’s lots of challenges for businesses out there to grow at the right pace to meet the market demands. Below we have tried to answer commonly asked questions prospective clients may have about our model.
How many charging points are there in the UK?
There is an established network of over 15,000 charging points readily available to the public all over the UK, compared to just 8000 petrol stations
What are the government’s commitments to electric cars?
The government has set a deadline to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030. After this date, you will only be able to purchase brand new hybrid and electric vehicles, with the sale of hybrid vehicles due to be phased out later in the decade. Motor manufacturers have laid out plans to achieve a fully electrified vehicle line-up by 2030 to support this collective commitment to an electric future from governments around the world.
Where do Search source its installers from?
Search have vast experience in building workforces in the energy sector, totalling over 18 years. Recently, we have been heavily involved in sourcing and upskilling large numbers of engineers to carry out the smart meter roll out in the UK, which leaves us in good standing to do the same in the EV market. We source experienced electrical workers and give them the skills and qualifications they need to work in the EV sector. It is anticipated that we will also look to upskill our most gifted smart meter fitters as demand grows. All our installers are been carefully checked, onboarded, and trained under the watch of our experienced team and training partners.

We source, train and retain a skilled workforce of installers, taking care of everything from upskilling and HR to payroll and admin. Our unique offering allows you to access the people you need at the right time, without the hassle of recruiting and maintaining a workforce yourself.
What are the benefits of Search’s resourcing solution?

We can reduce your overheads and support your business’s growth on a nationwide scale. Our dedicated team provide a single point of contact and we can customise our service to suit your needs.
How can I ensure quality standards are upheld when installing my product?
Managing quality through one organisational chain, rather than multiple installers, sometimes tens of multiple, will always be easier. This model focuses on maintaining standards, allowing you as the client as much or little input as you like of the control of the field force. Service standards are far easier to control when it links back to a single organisational structure.
How do I ensure continuity over my installs?
One of the main benefits of this model being bespoke to you is that you are able to retain your desired level of control over the engineers installing your products. (you can have a little or as much input as you would like )This will lead to increased synergy between engineer’s work quality and behaviours, irrespective of where in the UK they are located.
How does this solution assist with marketing?
Branded uniform worn by the engineers and liveried vehicles are a by-product of the service which ultimately become a free marketing tool, both when driving around and at all times whilst on customer premises. As part of discussions on the bespoke nature of the service we could even discuss whether it would be possible to build a sales function into the model if deemed appropriate.
